d’Art Firsthand

Second Saturday - June 9th - Found Object Sculpture

Create a unique mixed media sculpture from assorted materials! Our mixed media artists will provide inspiration and guidance through the process. All participants will leave with a finished work! Feel free to bring something that you'd like to incorporate!

First Thursday - June 7th - Photography’s Challenges and Rewards

Helen Jones: Photography Resident at the D’Art Center,  will describe how to minimize the challenges you face when making photographs, and how to reap more rewards in each photo you make with your camera. Helen will use samples of her own work to depict examples of both these moments and describe ways around common problems that can hinder a shooting session instead of enhancing the moment.

This mini-session is for people who already know how to use their cameras, and want to make stronger photos. Bring a photo of your own that challenged you, as well as a photo that provided a strong reward - meaning it turned out the way you envisioned it when the subject was first seen. We’ll tack them up for all to see and learn from the examples.   and I'll randomly select samples from five people to review.

Let us know you're coming to the Thursday Programming!

These free, interactive art events are held on the first Thursday evening and second Saturday afternoon of every month. Led by d’Art artists, Firsthand activities include workshops, hands-on make and take projects, artist lectures, and demonstrations.
