Eafrica Johnson is a Chesapeake resident who paints small almost every day. This self-taught artist finds interest in household objects, fruit and other common things. With a limited color palette in oil or acrylic, she emphasizes light, texture and shape through single subject compositions.  As an award-winning artist, she has shown pieces in galleries all over Hampton Roads. These galleries include: the Charles H. Taylor Center for the Arts, Suffolk Art Gallery and the Chrysler Museum. She has also participated in outdoor art events such as the Ocean View Art Show and the Neptune Festival. 

Eafrica Johnson is a graduate from Regent University with a Master’s degree in Education. She also received a teaching certificate from Old Dominion University and currently teaches elementary art for Portsmouth Public Schools.
