“I’ve been an artist all my life, but it was when I turned 50 that I took the step of sharing my art with the public. My first competition entry garnered me a juried spot in an international museum competition. The opulent opening for that show was held at the Houston Museum of Natural Science followed by a museum show, which travelled across the country for the next two years. What a magnificent way to start a new career. Hard to replicate such a fabulous experience, I have continued to focus on juried shows. I spent three years exposing my artwork to the public through the local art fair circuit, as well as juried gallery shows.

Ultimately, I have focused my efforts on juried gallery shows and local solo shows, highlighted by selection for a solo show at The
Sandler Center in Virginia Beach in 2014. Originally known for my pointillism style, I had to reinvent my style due to a shoulder injury, which was probably due to the repetitive nature of the pointillism. What a wonderful sense of freedom I experienced as I developed my gestural or intuitive phase. This open manner of painting lends itself quite well to my newest inspiration, which comes from my
fascination with God’s art, whether in the flora and fauna, or the sky’s light at the beginning and end of each day. I hope that my paintings will inspire others to see beyond the surface of the world that surrounds them.”
