NEON District Fiber Workshop

Taught by Ryan Lytle

This workshop will expand upon the existing installation on the Virginian Pilot Fence. The idea is to create a 12-14 ft wolf to add to the existing narrative. Ryan Lytle will create the armature ahead of time and prepare it for weaving. When sealing it with spray paint he will lay out the color pattern. Then the sculpture will be cut into 8-10 individual pieces. The participants will be taught techniques for weaving unconventional surfaces. Each person will be assigned a portion and will weave the colors in relative to the guide marks. The Pieces will then be sealed, zip tied together, and affixed to the fence.
