Vivian S. Davis is a professional artist, and Founder of Tutoring Art, a mobile art studio. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, she attended classes at the Atlanta College of Art and started her career working as a Graphic Artist, Scenic Painter, and dabbled in the early stages of video animation. In 1993, she won a Southern Regional Emmy Award for the computer animation title of a documentary entitled, “Southern Bases.” Thereafter, taking a sidestep she entered the hectic world of financial sales and marketing, where working as a trainer/instructor she discovered her passion for teaching.
In 2007, Vivian decided to devote more time to family and returned to work as a professional artist in Maryland. She founded a local recreational arts program which offered art, music and theatre classes for ages 6 and up - taught by Vivian and other local and highly talented instructors. She also returned to painting and started the SYKESVILLE PAINTING CLUB which continues to provide local budding and professional artists the ability to network, conduct and/or attend workshops, plein air painting and group studio art sessions. Vivian has always worked in a variety of mediums including acrylics, watercolor, clay hand building, pyrography on live edge wood, and the creation of large marshmallow peep sculptures having received awards in a few of those. You’ll find her next series includes painting with wine stains.
Now in Norfolk, VA., Vivian plans to continue her exploration of art mediums, along with teaching private and group art lessons. She is also a member of the Chesapeake Bay Artists Association.
