Vivian Davis is a multidisciplinary artist and art instructor traversing disciplines of illustration, painting, and sculpture, and cherishes the freedom she has found to experiment with a variety of mediums and styles. She has received awards for her work in pyrography on live edge wood, and large sculptures made of recyclable materials and carved foam. Vivian also paints in a variety of mediums, and does demonstrations painting with wine – Merlot or Malbec anyone?
A Miami born Cuban, Vivian spent much of her youth in Atlanta, Georgia drawing and painting her way through her family’s gypsy lifestyle. After studying at the Atlanta College of Art, she briefly worked as a Graphic Artist, but quickly moved to scenic theatre and video production which afforded her the opportunity of working with a variety of materials. While dabbling in the early stages of video animation, she won a Southern Regional Emmy Award for a computer animation title of a PBS documentary. Taking a sidestep and entering the hectic world of financial marketing, her work as a trainer is how she discovered her passion for teaching others, public speaking and leading demonstrations. She is the President of the Chesapeake Bay Art Association, and a Resident Artist/Instructor at d’Art Center in Norfolk. Please follow her on social media and check out some of her projects on #ARTestKitchen.
